How to Give:

You don’t have to participate in “100% Giving” to make a difference. You already do that every day by belonging to AMBUCS. Please know that if you choose to participate by giving the entire amount or a portion of it, we will put those dollars to work as we inspire mobility and independence from the national office.

If you would like to support multiple programs, we ask that you write multiple checks (if possible). Checks should be made out to National AMBUCS and mailed to PO Box 5127, High Point, NC 27262. Please include the program you would like to support in the memo line. If you’d like to make a contribution by phone, please call Janice Blankenship, membership service coordinator, at 1-800-838-1845 x118.

Areas of Program Giving:

Scholarships for Therapists Program – One therapist has the ability to impact countless lives during his/her career. The professions, however, continue to require even more education and the cost of attendance continues to

rise. As a result, there continues to be a shortage of clinical practitioners. Now more than ever, we must remain committed to providing education opportunities for future therapists. Contributions to 100% Giving are used to support graduate students who are pursuing degrees in physical or occupational therapy, speech language pathology or hearing audiology. Even without contributing to the program, all chapters are invited to sponsor one student for the awarding cycle. Please limit additional chapter sponsorships to no more than three for every $600 your chapter donates.

Cornerstone Program – Our founder William L. White sold turpentine cups in order to establish the first AMBUCS club in Birmingham, AL. The point being, there has been a financial investment in order to create every single chapter. Cultivating and supporting new chapters continues to remain at the forefront of our priorities as an organization, and Cornerstone allows us to do just that. Imagine the impact your chapter has had on your city, county and state. It isn’t just the people you’ve served through our mission; it’s the way your chapter has enriched your community and offered opportunities for people who may have never known about AMBUCS. Cornerstone is the backbone of our nonprofit, the core of our existence and the essence of what makes our organization so uniquely valuable. Cornerstone is you; it’s your neighboring chapters; and it’s chapters all across the country who stand Shoulders Together.

Amtryke Program – Contributions to the Amtryke Program fund Amtrykes for children, veterans and other adults who are waiting on the National Wish List. If a rider doesn’t have one of our chapters to fundraise for them, their request for Amtryke assistance is submitted to our office. That leaves a lot of areas who require our help which is why, on average, the National Wish List sees 50 new applications each month. Many of our recipients get to enjoy riding for the first time in their lives because of these essential gifts to our program.

Chapter Recognition & Activity Scoring:

Chapters who reach 100% in one or all programs are recognized. Awards are presented during the AMBUCS National Conference. If you or someone from your chapter is unable to attend, your awards will be shipped to you following conference.

When your total contributions reach an average of $40 per member for a program, you will receive points. If the average exceeds $40 per member in a program, you will receive one bonus point for each full average dollar over $40. If your chapter reaches their goal in all three programs, you will receive 100 bonus points. Filling out your chapter’s activities makes you eligible for even more awards. The number one chapter of the year will have accumulated the most points from their submissions
