We want to share an important product update for Paceline models. This is not a safety issue or recall, but an improvement designed to enhance performance, fit, and usability.
We identified three related issues with the seat base assembly:
Unwanted seat movement originating from the seat base
In certain positions, the pedal heel pulley cord contact with seat base knobs
Current knobs are limiting how tightly the seat base can be secured, creating ergonomic challenges
What is changing
We are updating the seat base design by replacing the knobs with a Grade 12 bolt system. Each update kit includes:
Grade 12 replacement bolts
6-inch Allen wrench
Adhesive magnet for tool storage
What we are doing
We are proactively sending these update kits to chapters for optional installation on existing Paceline models. Chapters may choose to retrofit current units based on need and usage.
Going forward, all new Paceline models will ship with the updated bolt system installed.
We have also included a visual comparison showing seat base play on the current Paceline design versus the Pro Series with the new bolt system.
Chapter feedback played a key role in identifying and refining these improvements. Your input continues to be integral in helping us improve fit, function, and overall user experience across all our product lines.
This update allows for a significantly tighter seat base fit, reducing unwanted movement and eliminating pulley cord contact.
Tool consideration
Because this introduces a tool-based adjustment, we are including an adhesive magnet to help keep the Allen wrench secured on the unit to reduce the risk of misplacement.
